Christmas Shopping in Aarhus
Hi everyone, so yesterday I took the train to Aarhus for the day to do some Christmas shopping before I come home to Canada for Christmas. It was awesome, lots of different things in the stores compared to Canada. I also liked that some stores sell the same stuff but certain items would be on sale in one store and then different ones in another. This way I could search around for the best price on specific items I wanted. That leaves you with a good feeling because you know you found a good deal!
I saw these beautiful bird feeders and thought ‘that is perfect for my mom’ but then I realized that these bird feeders were way to fragile for the monster squirrels that my mom is always battling in our backyard. I heard that Denmark does have squirrels but I have never see one here and if they do then Denmark’s squirrels are quite tame compared to Canadian squirrels.
Aarhus is a town about an hour and 20 min train ride from Ikast. It had a great indoor shopping mall and a really pretty outdoor shopping/walking street. I spent the day looking around both. All the shops were busy with people Christmas shopping. The one thing I noticed was that every shop would gift wrap whatever you were buying right there. I have definately not noticed that in Canada. When I was in one of the big department stores, they had a lingerie fashion show. They had chocolate, champagne and a DJ set up. So I hung around and watch the show for a while. It was lots of fun. All in all it was a great day, it even had some light fluffy snow flakes falling from the sky to top off the Christmas spirit. It was a lovely Christmas shopping day.

Song of the week: Hallelujah cover by Ashley Moss
Hey Everyone, this week’s song is Hallelujah covered by one of the players from my badminton club, Ashley Moss. He is a great singer. I go next door to listen to him practice, I am not very musical but I love music and he is really good. I really like when he takes mainstream songs and gives them his own personal twist. You can also check out his player profile under: Team Ikast.

Song of the Week: ‘Only Girl in the World’ Rihanna
Hey everyone, so this song is totally rocking my ipod right now. When Rihanna originally came out with ‘Pon De Reply’ a couple years ago I totally didn’t like her at all but she is really growing on me. Especially this song, it just makes me want to dance!

Profile: Jeppe Lund
Hey everyone, next profile is Jeppe Lund. He is like the big friendly giant. He is super tall (especially compared to me) and has a great smile. Jeppe gives off a chill, happy, relaxed vibe, it makes you feel very calm around him. But when he gets on the badminton court he bring this strong confidence and determination that the opponent can feel and see. His aura on court is great for competition because it doesn’t let his opponent ever feel comfortable. Jeppe is a tough competitor who always brings his best on court.

Profile: Ashley Moss
Hey everyone, next profile is Ashley Moss. He is a very technically strong badminton player with a monster smash. He can play singles, doubles, and mixed. He’s a true athlete who can physically do almost anything. Ashley is my next door neighbour here in Ikast so he has to put up with seeing me pretty much everyday! He is a super cool guy, he laughs at my jokes and puts up with hearing my bad singing threw the walls (Ashley is a really good singer so I feel bad for him having to hear me sing off key). He is a positive guy who’s energy can help pull anyone out of a funk.
